Biography of Lana Wood

Lana Wood, born as Svetlana Nikolaevna Gurdin, is an American actress and producer who is widely known both in the United States and abroad. She was born on March 1, 1946, in Santa Monica, California. Although her parents were Russian immigrants, they grew up far from their homeland - her father lived in Vancouver, while her mother grew up in one of the Chinese provinces. After Lana's parents met and married, they moved to Santa Monica, where Lana was born. Around the same time, the family changed their surname to "Gurdin". Lana's older sister, Natalie Wood, was also involved in the film industry. One day, she decided to use a pseudonym and named herself after the famous director Sam Wood when she started her own acting career as a child. Interestingly, Lana made her film debut alongside her older sister in the movie "The Searchers" (1956) and later decided to also adopt the surname "Wood".

In the 1960s, Lana Wood actively pursued her acting career. She appeared in the series "The Long, Hot Summer" and played the role of Sandy Webber in the soap opera "Peyton Place" from 1966 to 1967. In 1970, Lana was offered to participate in a photoshoot for Playboy magazine. She agreed, and soon her image appeared on the pages of the popular publication, making her truly famous. After that, Lana Wood continued to delight her fans with her work in movies and television. She appeared in over twenty films and numerous TV projects. In 1982, she left acting and focused on her career as a producer.

Lana Wood gained fame not only as an actress and producer but also as a writer. She created an excellent book, her own memoir, titled "Natalie, A Memoir by Her". The autobiographical work quickly gained success among readers.
